Join the BEA for an afternoon at VCU honoring Gov. L Douglas Wilder, the 66th Gov. of VA,  first elected Black governor in America, first directly elected mayor of the City of Richmond and namesake for Virginia Commonwealth University's Top 15% ranked Wilder School of Govt. & Public Affairs. Governor Wilder earned a BS in Chemistry from Virginia Union University, and a Law degree from Howard University. He also earned a Bronze Star for his service in the Korean War. Governor WIlder is the founder of the US National Slavery Museum and is now a Distinguished Professor at VCU, training minds to champion equity and social justice around the world.
